NATIONAL TRAILS DAY – HENDERSON STYLE OCT. 18th, 2008

National Trails Day Henderson Style – It means we wait until Fall when itis cooler in the desert to hold the National Trails event. Henderson is rapidly becoming the trail development leader in the State of Nevada.  With over 50-miles built and open; another 9 trail dedication openings planned in 2008 they truly are leaders in trail development.  OCTOBER 18, 2008 we’ll celebrate trails in Henderson through an Awareness Event to be held at the downtown Events Plaza next to Henderson City Hall.  The planning committee has been meeting monthly since February.  Our goal is to help henderson residents become aware of the many trail and outdoor opportunities they have right in their neighborhood.  There will be a serious of speakers and programs in the outdoor threater; informaitonal and hands on booths displaying trail locations and features, how to bicycle on trails, walking and hiking programs and displays, how to buy the right walking/hiking shoe/boots. etc.

Bicycle clubs demostrations;   Bike stores & tours helping you with proper bike sizing and maintenance.   Smokey the Bear, and other desert guests will make an appearance. Kids programs and hands on activities about nature and the environment around them.   Stay tuned for more information and updates…but save the date Oct. 18, 2008  9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
